In this country alone, over 5 million dogs are put down each year. Perfect, wonderful animals that would have made a great pet and member of the family. It is a shame and this does not have to happen! One of the greatest things anyone can do is open their home to a pound puppy or adopt from a rescue. Then Spay & Neuter so we don’t have over population problems!
There is a rescue for just about every breed of dog. In many cases, a dog that would go for $800-$1200 in a pet store could be obtained for between $200-$300 with a rescue. Also, many rescues have a network of volunteers who will organize a transport to deliver your new dog right to the front door.
